To Melbourne...to paint

TO MELBOURNE WITH PAINTS VIA MARLO

We have just returned after a gorgeous trip down the Monaro/ Cann River highways to Marlo, at the mouth of the Snowy River. We stayed a couple of nights at Ocean View Park, glorious views, good cabins and fantastic fish and chips from Gilligan's F and C shop..
I was keen to focus on my watercolour skills which are a bit rusty, so it took a few warm-ups to get any decent results. There were fantastic spots along the Snowy river and surrounding estuaries for fishing and painting so we made the most of it... the view below being of Marlo from the other side of the river.

We then headed to Melbourne to visit our daughter for a few days, so the scenes became the wonderful Yarra River, ships and Port Phillip Bay.
The Mission to Seafarers exhibition was a highlight of our trip.
I had two paintings hung in the show and sold one (tug boats, below)
The show is on till 31st October at the mission headquarters, Flinders St, Melbourne.
