Bushscapes

Adventures Amongst the Trees...
So tricky, painting all the layers of the Australian bush, trying to work out what to eliminate in order to convey the underlying structure of the land...rocks and hills and embankments...all covered in scrub (a very Australian word) .So here is my latest focus scene...bush-scapes. From creek-side (Mullet Creek) to lake-side (Thirlmere Lakes) to the Tourist Rd, Robertson.

A few oils, a few water colours... I continually
like the quicker plein air sketches far more than the works I have spent time on in my studio. Inspiration as always from Fred Williams, even Matisse, Clarice Beckett and Cezanne... I guess that's where the admiration of simplification and the ability to eliminate arises.
